Down to a science.

The summer of 1996 was the period between high school and college for me and I decided it would be fun to go work for Delta as a Ramp Agent during the Olympics. I was still driving the '86 Blue Ford Escort that had been handed down to me via my brother and Dad. It was complete with a deer dent in the front hood and would shake violently up to 55 mph and then suprisingly go into stealth mode beyond 60. It was a fun car and I drove the hell out of it.

So I guess I had bought Tragic Kingdom a few months prior and it had made its way into my 6 CD changer. I'm not sure when I realized it, but if I started the CD with Spiderwebs (Track 1) when I pulled out of the drive, I would arrive at work just as track 8 (Sixteen) would finish. If I even began to hear track 9 before I turned off the car, I was in trouble and late. When I turned my car back on to go home around 2am, track 9 would play and I would pull back into my driveway just as the last song of the CD ended. This became a fun game for me and passed the time away as I made the drive each day. I still love this CD and it always reminds me of my days sweating in the hot sun at the airport.
