New Kind Of Music

If you're like me you want to imagine that you came out of your mother's womb listening to The Velvet Underground or Fugazi or any other "cool" band. But the reality is growing up most people listened to some pretty "un-cool" stuff. I was no different. But when I got to college, Neutral Milk Hotel was the band that changed everything for me. I used to hang out at a record store on campus and trade them design work for free records. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea was an album that was on at the store one day and it was like nothing I had never heard before. From then on I started seeking out more "indie" music and haven't looked back since.
