Our Last Album...

(I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child) experienced moderate success at college radio. You could hear "Wolves at Night" or "Golden Ticket" played on some specialty shows around this country. This song was the first single that took off at radio. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around exactly what that means. With the availability of sites like Pandora and Last.FM, it's entirely too easy for a listener to seek out music that he enjoys. The iPod has stepped in to score the soundtrack of our lives. MP3s and playlists, satellite radio and iTunes' Genius function cater incredibly well toward specialized audiences. It doesn't seem to leave much room for radio, but people listen.

People Listen

A mass amount of people listen. "I've Got Friends" peaked at *7 on the Modern Alternative Rock Charts. It's a difficult concept for me to wrap my mind around- this list of songs that the entire country hears at once... over and over again... every day.
