The night before I was to leave town for Michigan Fest, The Liars played a house show next door to the house Matthew lived in. It was amazing, packed to the gills, and I remember I had to stand on a bookcase to see. I remember chatting with various friends throughout the night, but Matthew and I would occasionally glance at each other from across the room, keeping some kind of secret from the rest of the room.
