Da Crossroads
I love this song. So what if I missed the fact that they were singing about their dead homies, or thug life...I just loved the emotion of it.
My brother and I rode around town in our 1989 Beretta GT, bumping this song with 2-12s in the back. Yeah, and with 5%-visibility window tint. Nevermind the enormous paint-chip on the trunk.
That song made us feel part of the game, and as kids hustling around Lawrenceville, GA, passing time, that was important to us. I remember my brother learning how to "stack," which is the form of story-telling by gangs with the hand-motions.
This song always guaranteed that I would see some stacking while driving down the road. And, he wasn't in a gang, by the way. It just felt right.
