Working and being touched and amazed...

So its freezing outside...I have tons of catch up work I have been putting off as I hadn't been feeling great with a cough...better now, but moving on...

I popped on the Natalie Merchant Storytellers while I was held up and working. I don't think I had ever seen it even though Ive had it for years... I wasn't paying much attention at first, just happy to hear some familiar songs. And then I payed a little more attention to the words and the stories and I found myself awe struck literally with my mouth hanging open.

How is it that we can hear music and songs that we've heard a million times before and, although we enjoy it, never Really hear it?

Today I HEARD Natalie Merchant for the first time and have a deeper sense of respect and appreciation for this amazing artist, singer, writer...person.
