Steve Perry's Journey

Dan Morris (that's right) and I were working together at FYE, previously known as Camelot music, in late 2001.  This may have been after the Christmas holidays... either way it was a slow day in the record store. 

Dan the man suggested we open up two CDs of our choosing (after purchasing them of course) that we'd never heard before.  After browsing the aisles, I found "Trial By Fire" by Journey.  Turning the disc over, I was surprised to find Steve Perry in the photo on the back (he had, afterall, left Journey by this time).  When I held up the CD to show Dan, he said "Journey!  Hell yeah!"  So with that, the choice was made.

Even though this is undoubtedly a sad/break-up song... It still reminds me of that moment in the store with Dan.  And despite the song being linked with that memory... It's a great late-Steve Perry-era gem of a track!
