When my sister, Lindsey, and I were teenagers, we had a rule that we would only listen to oldies in our car. It was a powder blue VW Rabbit. One time Lindsey drove us over to take some library books back to the return box. Don't we sound like sweet, angelic teens with our oldies radio and our library books? Heehee. As we looped through the circular drive and dropped off our books, "Happy Together" by the Turtles came on the radio. Naturally we cranked it up and started singing along. It was then that we saw some local news people trying to film some bit for the news next to the cheesy metal sculpture at the center of the grass island. They had stopped recording and were waiting for us to get the hell out of there so they could get back to filming their segment again. I think we were a little embarrassed. We turned it down and continued through the loop as if to leave. Then, for whatever reason, my sister paused and waited for them start filming again. Suddenly she turned the music back up super loud and drove around the circle again! We were laughing so hard. We kept going around and around the circle for the entire length of the song and laughed 'til our cheeks hurt. The news people just stood there looking pissed at us. Lindsey insisted we were going to be wanted by the police. She said we were The Turtle Bandits.
