How many times did you have to buy this album?

I used to have this theory about Concrete Blonde's Bloodletting album. I was so sure they'd made some kind of deal with dark forces to insure that everyone who bought it had to buy it at least twice. I used to bring it up every time I saw it in someone's collection. Is that your first copy of that album, or is that a replacement? Invariably it was the second or third copy purchased. True story. I myself had to buy it a few times before they were done taking my money. I think that's where they came up with the album title. Bloodletting, as in bleeding your wallet dry.

But seriously, folks, the reason anyone would go through multiple copies of this album is that it's so f-ing good that they would wear it out. Or they would have it out and vulnerable in situations hazardous to its health. Back in the 1990s, anyway.
