Life and Death
I was very close to my grandmother who lived in Tennessee. She died of a heart attack, and our family gathered in her hometown for the funeral. That same week my brother died of an asthma attack, the last time I saw him was in Tennessee. It was one of the most difficult times of my life. I realized how precious life is, and that anyone I love could die at any moment.
I was passionate about this song and pushed to have it released as the first single. The record label wanted to release Mr. Wendel, but after a bit of a struggle Tennessee was released first.
