and even if you weren't the people the music was intended for, you can still feel it offers a deep human connection, through sonic celebration.

A.D. is a music group that respects women, promotes family, spirituality and male responsibility. Their music addresses consciousness, the earth, African self-determination and love. They call their live shows celebrations. They celebrate the power of life, the certainty of death and struggles of the ancestors whose shoulders we stand upon today.

They were the first African - American artists to donate money to Nelson Mandela and the ANC to help South Africans in their freedom; they also donated $20,000 to UNICEF for relief of women in the Congo, they've done charity for Homeless organizations throughout the world and by donating half of the proceeds to one of their bigger hits, Mr. Wendal to the National coalition of the homeless. They reach out to inner city youth, women's prisons, anti human trafficking groups, green activists, schools, and universities across the globe to help spread the message that regardless of one being oppressed, they can't wallow in their oppression, but instead fight to rise above it!

Founded in the late 80s by leader/rapper Speech whose mother owns a black newspaper in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since Speech was 7 years old his parents politics and community issues influenced him. However, all of the members have a deep belief in using music to help those who are in need.

This 2-time Grammy Award Winning group has been devoted to nudging folks in the direction of freedom and evolution for over 19 years. Many members have remained based in the countryside's of the south using dirty & gritty sounds while mixing samples & B-3 organs, with wailing vocals and soulful southern choirs.
